I’m ready for you BlogPodium: DIY Business Card Holder!

By Sabrina @pinklilnotebook · On September 19, 2013

This Saturday, I’m going to BlogPodium and I’m super excited!  This is Canada’s one-of-a-kind conference dedicated to design & lifestyle bloggers.  It’s an action packed day full of expert speakers, hands-on learning, networking, brand-meeting, swag bag collecting & oh ya, did I mention, a ton of inspiration!  I mean what’s not to like, right?  Thanks to my newly opened Twitter account (ya..I know, long overdue), I’m able to get a glimpse of all the great and super-talented Canadian bloggers that are attending this Saturday!  A room full of like-minded people…woohoo!!! I’m definitely ecstatic and look forward to meeting all of you 😉

In anticipation of BlogPodium, I have been busy pondering around looking for some great finds to bring with me to the event.  I’ve got the business cards, got the notebook, got the accessories, even got the nail colour and outfit, the only thing that seemed to be missing was a holder for my business cards.  I went out for a little shopping fun to see what I could find and by the third store, I gave up.  I just couldn’t seem to find anything that matched that cute little image I had in my head (don’t you hate when that happens?).  On my way home, frustrated at my failed shopping attempt, I had a thought….just make one! And so the DIY queen came out to play and this is what I created!

She’s cute, isn’t she?!

Here’s what I did. . .

I was actually going through my jewellery, looking for accessories to wear to BlogPodium,  when I came across this box.

Now I definitely didn’t think twice about the bangle bracelet that was inside the box but rather I was fascinated by this box itself.  I thought rectangular box, rectangular business cards…hmm, worth a try!   Amazingly, luck was on my side.  The business cards fit perfectly inside this 3 3/4″x 2″ box.

Remember, my DIY wall art? Well I dug up that Decor Noir card stock booklet I had and picked out two different patterns with gold foliage.

I measure out each side and cut the card stock to size. Pretty simply eh? I glued the card stock with Mod Podge.  Here’s the tricky part, you will notice that I only covered did the top portion and not the bottom portion of the box.  I actually did put card stock at the bottom, only to rip it all off because I realized you could not close the box properly (a big oops!).  To finish it off, I lined the inside with a different card stock.  Check it out.

Phew, it’s all done just before the big event!  And I can’t wait to use my new holder that matches my fab accessories!
