When the hubby told me we can start the bathroom makeover, I was on cloud nine!!! Okay, okay…maybe I had to flutter my eyelashes a little bit & throw
a few innocent smiles his way but regardless he agreed! I’m super excited and overly impatient for the finished product. Where’s a magic wand when you need one? Wouldn’t it be great to just skip all the time consuming parts?! I would tap that magic wand and “bang!” new tile installed, “bang!” walls are painted, “bang!” light fixture installed, “bang!” kitchen, “bang!” backyard, “bang!” to the rest of the house…yes, I would eventually be banned from all magic wand privileges (hehe).
Although, I sometimes lack patience, I really do enjoy the DIY process and the transformation that comes along with it. I especially enjoy sitting back and watching the heavy duty things completed by the hubby & big Joe (my handymen!).
Here is what we have done so far
- dismantled vanity…….√check
- removed tile……………√check
- cleaned mess………….√check
- baseboards painted….√check
- ceiling painted………..√check
- walls painted………….√check
You can already see a huge difference.
Although my body is in pain right now, we are still pushing through and hoping to have this project finished by next week or so. Find me on Facebook or Instagram to see pictures of the process!
Tip of the day: Need a great arm workout, paint a ceiling. I don’t think I’ve ever used those muscles before….what a killer!

Were you able to keep and use the same bathtub? I can’t wait to see the finished project!
Our home remodeling man was able to get to us this week. We ripped up the carpeting in sunroom about a month ago, had porcelain tile installed, then Tuesday our home remodeling guy came, painted the sunroom walls, trim and painted the double exterior front doors, and this morning, he and I put up crown molding and while I was at dentist, he painted the molding. We had purchased a small drop leaf table with 2 chairs back in mid July and that was delivered on 8/14..The sunroom is looking good, and we love the color. BM Key Largo Green but we had SW to mix that same color
Next big project is replacing bathroom sink/vanity and painting that room. When the previous owner had this house painted to get it ready to put on the market, the painters painted over wallpaper and evidently the sky light had leaked and water must have got behind the wallpaper and made a mess. We’ve already replaced the toilet. That’s a early winter project.

Hi Betty, thanks for the message! Yes, we were able to keep the same bathtub. The house is only 7 years old so everything is in pretty good shape! Although, I would have loved to replace it with a shower stall. But for resale purposes and budget wise, we figured to just leave it since nothing was wrong with it. Sounds like you made good progress with your sun room! Good luck with your bathroom renos!
