Bathroom, Inspiration, One Room Challenge 18

ORC Week 1: Last room standing. . .

By Sabrina @pinklilnotebook · On April 3, 2014

[Afterthought:  After realizing that the One Room Challenge starts today, I decided to take the plunge and join in on the action!   Basically I have six weeks to complete this bathroom and document my progress on the way. So here you have week 1:  My inspiration.  The pressure is on! So excited!]

I have been in my house for nearly two years now and I can happily say we have re-painted, re-constructed and re-model almost every single inch of this house, of course, all within a DIY friendly budget!

Am I a decorating addict? well maybe. Do I enjoy it? Very much so!

So you’ll understand why I’m a little sad that I only have one more space in the house that awaits a major transformation.   Say hello to my master ensuite bathroom. . .

The house is roughly 7 years old so the original master bathroom is actually in good condition. The style on the other hand is just a little dated for my taste.  The  great thing about this bathroom is it’s all cosmetic. That’s right no major reno needs to be done here.  Just a little PARA paint, tile change and DIY touches can change this space completely 🙂

With the warmer weather rolling around and my hubby ready to tackle the next project (I know, I’m surprised by this too!), I’m in full planning mode.

When browsing around for inspiration, I realized I love the idea of stepping into a bathroom that has a spa-like feel. For colour, I think it’s best to stick with the neutral tones.  I envision lots of white and greys for a classic yet calming effect.

Lately I have been crushing on panel walls.  It adds a traditional feel to a room which can be paired beautifully with modern tiles.  Gotta love intermixing those styles. I can definitely see a square panel design working as a feature wall behind the bathtub with a chandelier dripping down in crystals.

Overall, I want to achieve a clean, airy, feel-good vibe in my bathroom.   Anything is better than the colour palette I’m looking at right now.  Eeeek I can’t wait to start!

[Continue to week 2]

Oh and one more thing. . . incase you didn’t know. . .

ParaSpringFever

On April 8th, I’ll be joining forces with the PARA Blog Crew to bring you a little Spring Fever Challenge. Each blog crew member is currently working on a PARA paint project which will be revealed next Tuesday!

And guess what? You can join in on the fun too!

We will be hosting a link party for anyone who wants to share their spring projects. You will have one week from April 8th to post it up.  So get started!  I can’t wait to see what everyone comes up with!
