Every January, design enthusiasts alike gather over a three-day period to view some of the latest innovations in the world of design. This event known as The Interior Design Show hosts some of the biggest brands in the industry as well as a glimpse into the emerging local talent found here in our City.
In the heart of Toronto, this show not only provides you with an overwhelming dose of inspiration and product knowledge but a true appreciation for the art of Interior Design.
As I attended opening night this year, it’s not uncommon to bump shoulders with some of the industry’s best designers, TV show hosts and tons of knowledgeable people who know their stuff. An evening filled with music, drinks and a whole bunch of conversations jammed pack about style and design makes this one of my favourite events to look forward too.
Throughout the night, I seemed to notice a few reoccurring design trends. From tiles and carpet to fabrics and furniture, geometric shapes and graphic patterns seem to be everywhere. And what’s there not to love about it!?! Using shapes and patterns is a great way to add interest to any design. Be wild and carefree or make a profound statement in a minimalistic way.

I was excited to see Blanco’s new product reveal. This Blanco Quatrus Gourmet Series takes kitchen sinks to a whole new level. With multilevel grids, cutlery workstation + ash cutting board, I just couldn’t believe how much functionality and style were packed in this single design.
The Blanco Silgranit sink collection also reveal a new colour. Meet Metallic Gray! This Silgranit line already comes in six other neutral colours and this new addition perfectly fits the family. I can’t wait to see how this gorgeous sink colour will be incorporated into kitchen designs this year!

Classic black seems like it’s here to stay. I found this trending colour just about everywhere from appliances to kitchen cabinets to paint colours and accessories. It does add a certain level of elegance no other colour can compete with!
I have a mad crash on this Jenn-Air refrigerator with the signature Obsidian interior. Perfection!

This lighting from Plumen might just end up in my own home!

This event is definitely a sight to see! I seriously can’t wait to infuse my home with a little inspiration I got from the show!
If you haven’t had the chance to check out the Interior Design Show, make sure you do next year!
There is so much to see and do that it will have you coming back for more 🙂
