“Reasoned“, “Diaphanous“, “Curiosity“, “Intrinsic” are just the names of the four mystical and profound colour story boards that Jackie Jordon from Sherwin Williams shared with us last Thursday at Colourmix 2014. During this hour long presentation hosted at West Elm Toronto, she explained the drivers and influencers behind the trending colour palettes for 2014.
From black, white and greys–to delicate, soft and serene–to avant-garde and dark–to globe meet new bohemian, these new trending colours had a little bit of everything to satisfy your style and colour needs. With every click of Jackie’s presentation, a new slide provided us with tons of pretty pictures, videos and descriptive content to help us get a deeper understanding behind all the forecasted colours. With my eyes glued to the screen and my brain producing new ideas by the second, I couldn’t help but be in awe!
So if you’re in the market of updating your walls or just looking for colour inspiration for your next project, then hold on to your socks because these colours are sure to impress! Check out the new trending colours for 2014!

Since I also happened to be in one of my favourite stores, West Elm, I couldn’t resist the urge to take some photos after the presentation. I can live in this store!

What a great colour forecast for 2014! I’m especially partial to the “Reasoned” palette; grey is a fantastic hue to use in decor, not only for walls but through fabrics and accents as well. There are some bold concepts too (I’m liking the Houseplant and Capri shades) which can really add pop and interest to interiors. Thanks for sharing Sabrina.
