Inside my Make-up Bag?

By Sabrina @pinklilnotebook · On November 7, 2013

If there is one thing I love as much as decorating, it’s make-up products!

That’s right ladies, make-up! Some of you love it. Others find it complicated.

Today’s post is brought to you by the one question I always get asked by friends “what make-up products do you use?”

Now I know what your thinking. Decor? Make-up? What the hell does she know? But somewhere along the way, I became a certified make-up artist.  True story.

Of course, I no longer practice it (besides on myself and maybe the occasional friend) but I thought I’d show you a quick round up of some the products I use to look fresh-faced throughout the day!

Inside-my-make-upbag1

PRIMER: Smashbox – Photo Finish
This is absolutely one of my fav primers ever!  I especially love to use this in the winter when my skin is dry. It makes my skin feel hydrated, silky and smooth again. No matter what foundation you put on top of it, you’re guaranteed a flawless finish!

FOUNDATION: Make Up Forever – HD High Definition Foundation (I use 128 Almond)
This is a medium-to-full coverage foundation.  I love this simply for the fact that it blends beautifully once it hits your skin. I use either a foundation brush or sponge to apply.  It has buildable coverage which is great for those not-so-good-skin-days.

CONCEALER: MAC Studio Finish SPF 35 Concealer (I use NW25)
I haven’t found the ultimate concealer that I’m head over heels for but this one comes pretty close.  This lightweight, cream based concealer comes in a variety of colours.  It doesn’t crease but I do find it fades pretty quickly throughout the day (the only negative).  My favourite brush to apply concealer is the MAC 219. It’s actually an eye pencil brush. I find that the precision of this brush allows you to really pin point those areas you want to hide.

POWDER: MAC Mineralize SkinFinish (I use Medium Plus) & MAC Powder Blush (I use Emote)
I currently use this mineral powder to set my foundation. It gives a natural and effortless finish to my face.  In addition, I also like the Mac Powder blush for contouring my cheek bones and eyelids.  Finding the perfect colour is key to getting that healthy, natural look.   This shade is probably the best one I’ve found so far.

HIGHLIGHTER: Benefit What’s UP – soft focus highlighter
I’m in love with this product! I love glow and shimmer but in a very natural kind of way (if you know what I mean).  This product does it all! I use this either on my eyebrow bone, eye lids or cheek bones, all depending on what look I’m going for that day.

EYELINER: MAC Fluidline (I use blacktrack)
A gel liner is very similar to a liquid liner.  I love this product simply for the fact that it glides on smoothly.  I use an angel brush to apply it.

MASCARA: Voluminous Mascara
Thick, long lashes are a beauty must. I have been using this product for years and any time I try a new mascara, I always come back to this one!  It’s volumizing effect gives your lashes an instant boost.  It’s also a great alternative to those super expensive mascaras.

LIPSTICK: Make Up Forever Rouge Artist Intense (I use 32)
This lipstick hydrates, it adds colour and it’s long lasting.  I find this to be a super comfortable formula to wear.  And this one also happens to  be my favourite shade right now!

So that’s my make-up bag.  For me, it’s all about keeping the skin looking natural and flawless during the day.  I love that healthy glow!

What kind of make-up are you carrying around? I love hearing from you, so if you have any questions, just let me know.

I absolutely love all things makeup and product. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve become more of a minimalist and less of a hoarder by sticking to the tried and true. That being said, my bag looks a lot like yours too! I think I need to try the highlighter. I’m glad you posted this, I don’t know why but I like getting to see what other people use!
